Until You Learn to Work with Giants, You'll Never Fully Bring Your Medicine into the World.
The world is full of giants.
They demand attention and can have devastating effects on your time, energy and other resources.
Giants can leave you feeling overwhelmed, overburdened, struggling with what feels like more than your “fair share" of trouble. You may find it hard to relax and put things down. Your sleep may be troubled. You may have even wished to be an octopus with eight arms. Despite your best efforts at times you may wonder how much more you can take.
Until you can effectively recognise and deal with giants, bringing your unique gift, genius, medicine to the world can be another impossible task, leaving you feeling frustrated and disillusioned, even challenging your sense of worth.
If this sounds familiar I may be able to help.

What is a Giant?
A Giant is something bigger than you.
Something that can feel insurmountable.
The bulldozers eating forests are giants ruled by even bigger giants.
The job you hate that
A gigantic trouble. A corporation. A huge loss. A big dream.
Giants come in many sizes and shapes and flavors. Some live within you, others live in the outside world.
We live in a time where the world is in the grip of many competing giant forces.
On a personal level you may be someone with a mutual attraction with giants, a kind of polarity that draws you to them and them to you. You may work for or with giants. Perhaps some of the people you love can be giants at times.
Maybe you are part giant too.
Giants can be inside or outside of us, or a combination of both. They can bring massive challenges or great help.
Some of the giants you might be familiar with include shame and self loathing, disconnection, depression, anxiety, addiction, chronic illness, unrealistic expectations both on self and others, a distorted view of yourself and your worth.
In this modern world we have a poverty of some essential giants; Eldership, real community, initiation, ritual. Grief, anger and other "unpalatable" emotions have been exiled, replaced with false positivity and nicety.
The poverty of these helpful giants comes at a high cost. Their absence makes room for the giants of abuse, violence, betrayal. Exile, feelings of not belonging, homelessness, tensions between the masculine and the feminine, relationship breakdowns, a kind of warped independence where we feel we need to do it all, alone. It is what gives room for authoritarian regulations, forests and sacred sites being decimated and $100 million shopping mall upgrades while people starve and raising $100K to map a country becomes another impossible task.
Big corporations, government departments, modern society and the mainstream media are all giants.
